Saint John Riptide News Release

The Manchester Millrats host the Halifax Rainmen in a rematch for first place in the Atlantic Division. Tip off is set for 2:30 pm EST at the Fieldhouse on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University. The game will be webcast via the SNHU network and is accessible by a link on www.manchestermillrats.com.

The Rainmen briefly took control of first place by defeating the Millrats 123-119 in Halifax on Thursday, for their first ever win against Manchester. But they dropped that narrow lead in the division less than 48 hours later by losing to the Vermont Frost Heaves 112-110. Thus the stage is set and the winner of Sunday's game will be back on top of the division.

"The Atlantic Division is so competitive right now, it is going to be 3 or 4 teams jockeying for position over the new few weeks for a clear lead," explained Millrats GM Ian McCarthy. "We want to take care of business at home and just focus on one game at a time."

Sunday's game will also mark the debut of 7'0 Kenyon Gamble for the Millrats. Gamble is a shot blocker extraordinaire who should make a big impact for the Millrats in the interior. He will be looked on to help contain former Millrat Rob Sanders, who has been dominant lately for the Rainmen. Sanders scored 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds against his former team on Thursday, and followed that up with 24 points and 9 boards at Vermont.

Tickets are available online or at the door, and are just $10 for adults and $5 for kids 17 and under. Doors open 1 hour before tip off.
