Augusta's Millien Scores 44 in Win over Destroyers

Augusta, GA- The PBL's leading scorer A.J. Millien exploded for a season high 44 points and 18 boards as Augusta came from 13 down in the second to get by Mid-Michigan 125-119. Millen hit 19-33 from the floor and 6-12 from the free throw line.

Both teams started off hot with Mid-Michigan leading 30-27 after a quarter. Justin Hall, who was perfect from three point range had six of his 14 in the quarter for Mid-Michigan while A.J. Millien hit two hoops in 20 seconds and had ten in the quarter.

In the second, the heavyweight battle started between Odgra Bobo and Millien. At one point, Bobo scored nine of his team's 11 points, but Millien would battle him point for point as he finished with 13 in the quarter. Mid-Michigan would lead by as many as 13 and went into the locker room up 62-53.

The comeback would start in the third with Augusta cutting the advantage to seven after three as Millien continued his hot shooting as he capped off an 11-2 run by the Groove which was capped off by a 17 footer as time expired and Augusta was down seven after three.

In the fourth, the Groove exploded. With the score 106-94, capped off by a Cory Sims long ball, Augusta went on a 13-1 run to tie the score at 107. Sims would hit for nine of his 20 during the run. Oscar Sanders broke the tie with a short jumper, but Millien would hit back to back jumpers as Mid-Michigan lost the lead for good. Sims would add another six and Augusta hit their free throws down the stretch as they sealed the victory.

Oscar Sanders and Odgra Bobo finished with 26 each for Mid-Michigan; Marcus Skinner added 18. For the Groove, Cory Sims added 20 and Demitrius Howard tossed in 16.
