STOCKTON, CA, 2021 - The Agua Caliente Clippers (3-1) lose their first game of the season, falling to the Stockton Kings (3-1), 102-83, on Monday night in the second leg of a back-to-back.
Jay Scrubb led all Clippers with 19 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field, including 3 triples.
George King added a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds while LA Clippers' assignee Brandon Boston Jr. nearly had his own, recording eight points and 10 rebounds.
Stockton's Marcus Graves led all scorers with 21 points on seven-for-14 shooting from the field. Graves also recorded a game-high seven assists.
DJ Steward added 18 points off the bench on an efficient 7-for-10 from the field.
The Clippers just never got it going tonight, shooting 39 percent (32-for-82) from the field and only 28.1 percent (nine-for-32) from distance while the Kings hit 14 of their 35 three-point attempts (40 percent). Agua Caliente also turned the ball over 25 times, leading to 21 Stockton points.
A bright spot for the Clippers was their work on the glass, where they pulled down 15 offensive rebounds and outrebounded the Kings 52-45.
Agua Caliente returns home to Ontario for the first time since the end of their 2020 campaign on Thursday, November 18th, as they take on the Oklahoma City Blue. Tip-off is at 7 pm PT at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, CA and can be streamed on ESPN+.
