Screaming Eagles Trade Trudeau to Val-D'Or....

Sydney - The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles completed another trade today sending Philippe Trudeau to Val-d'Or.

Cape Breton traded 19-year-old goalie Philippe Trudeau (1993-09-28) to Val-d'Or in exchange for 16-year-old forward Timothe Simard (1996-09-27) and a fourth-round draft pick (2013). The fourth-round pick Cape Breton will receive was originally owned by the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

Trudeau played 83 career games, including 4 playoff games with the Screaming Eagles, and recorded a record of 21 wins, 43 losses, 3 overtime loses, 6 shootout loses, and 1 shootout. The 16-year-old Simard, drafted in the fourth round (64th overall) in the 2012 QMJHL Draft, has recorded 3 goals and 3 assists in 32 games this season. Simard was a member of the Team Quebec who finished 4th place at the 2013 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's December trade period ends Tuesday, January 8th 2013 at noon.
