Sydney, NS - Kevin Asselin scored a pair of third period goals, including a short-handed goal into an empty net, to lead the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles to a come-from-behind 6 - 4 victory over the Moncton Wildcats, before 3,100 at Centre 200 on Friday. Asselin's goals were his 13th,PP and 14th of the season and improved the Sceaming Eagles' record to 13 - 8 - 0 - 0 (26 pts), one point behind the East Division second place Wildcats, who fell to 13 - 4 - 0 - 1 (27 pts).
Rounding out the Cape Breton scoring summary were James Sheppard (6th, PP), Scott Brannon (3rd), Vladimir Kubus (9th) and Paul McIlveen (1st, PP). Defenseman Keith Yandle led the Wildcats with a goal, his sixth of the year, and a pair of assists, while single goals came from Stephane Goulet (15th,PP), J.P. Chabot (5th,PP) and Tim Spencer (1st). Christian Gaudet added a pair of assists, with Philippe Dupuis, Nathan Welton and Josh Hepditch collected one helper each.
Cape Breton led 1 - 0 after the first period, while the teams were tied 2 - 2 heading into the third period. Moncton was 2 for 4 on the powerplay, while Cape Breton went 3 for 8. Moncton outshot Cape Breton 41 - 31, including 13 - 10 in the first and 19 - 9 in the middle stanza. Cape Breton held a 12 - 9 advantage in the third. Ondrei Pavelec improved his record to 10 - 5, while Moncton's Guillaume Blouin saw his record drop to 4 - 2.

Moncton concludes its road trip on Sunday, November 6th, when they face the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in a 4 pm contest at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre. Moncton's next home game is Thursday, November 10th when they host the Shawinigan Cataractes in a 7 pm contest at the Moncton Coliseum.
