Cape Breton Eagles News Release

Sydney - The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles confirmed today that Nicolas Roy has been traded to the Chicoutimi Sagueneens in exchange for three first round draft picks including Baie-Comeau's 2014 first round pick and Chicoutimi's first round picks in 2015 and 2016. The Screaming Eagles will also receive the fifth overall pick and the last pick of the second round in the 2014 draft from the league as compensation for Roy not reporting to Cape Breton.

Nicolas Roy (97-02-05), was selected by the Screaming Eagles first overall at the QMJHL Entry draft in June but refused to report to Cape Breton even though the Screaming Eagles organization addressed the family's concerns.

"Making this trade allows us to move forward; waiting any longer in hopes of Nicolas changing his plan could have jeopardized the offer we had on the table", said Screaming Eagles General Manager & Head Coach Marc-Andre Dumont. "We now have the opportunity to use these picks to improve our team by drafting players or making trades."

The Screaming Eagles will play their final pre-season game this Sunday, September 8th at Centre 200 against the Halifax Mooseheads. Game time is 4:00pm and admission is $8.00. Season Tickets will also be available for pick up starting Wednesday, September 11th from the West Concourse in Centre 200.
