
Screaming Eagles Acquire Roddie Sandilands, Trade Ian Smallwood

SYDNEY - The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles have completed a pair of trades at the conclusion of the 2018-2019 QMJHL winter trading period.
The Screaming Eagles have acquired 19 year old defenseman Roddie Sandilands from the Shawinigan Cataractes in exchange for Blainville-Boisbriand's third round draft pick in 2020. Sandilands was signed as a free agent by Shawinigan partway through the 2017-18 season. This season Sandilands has nine points in 38 games for the Cataractes.
The Screaming Eagles have also traded 19 year old defenseman/forward Ian Smallwood to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in exchange for Acadie-Bathurst's seventh round draft pick in 2020. Smallwood was originally acquired by Cape Breton in a trade with the Québec Remparts in 2017-18. This season Smallwood has 12 points in 27 games with the Screaming Eagles.
The Screaming Eagles will play their first home game of 2019 on Wednesday, January 9th, when they host the Charlottetown Islanders.
