Beloit Sky Carp News Release

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - The Beloit Snappers (31-41) broke a three-game losing streak against the Cedar Rapids Kernels (40-32) on Sunday thanks to a key performance from Connor Scott. He drove in three runs and hit his fourth home run of the season.

The Snappers scored in the top of the third inning on a first-pitch home run from Scott over the right-field wall to give Beloit a 1-0 lead. Beloit held tight to that lead with stellar pitching.

George Soriano pitched four scoreless innings in his second start back from the IL, giving up just two hits and a walk with eight strikeouts. Jake Walters pitched the final five innings for the Snappers without giving up a hit.

Beloit's offense broke out in the top of the ninth inning for three runs to secure a 4-0 win.

Beloit's Top Performers: Scott was 3-for-5 with a home run and two-run single in the ninth. Ricky Aracena reached twice with an RBI double. Soriano and Walters combined to throw all nine innings, throwing a two-hitter.

The Snappers are on the road in Peoria starting on Tuesday before moving into ABC Supply Stadium downtown beginning August 3. For more information on tickets or group outings, call our front office at 608.362.2272 or visit SnappersBaseball.com.
