[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-Behind a three goal third period, the Scorpions beat Corpus Christi 5-2 Saturday night. The win moved the Scorps to 5-0-1 on the current seven game home stand.
The fans were treated to an exciting final 20 minutes inside the Santa Ana Star Center. The Rayz tied the game up when Jay Latulippe score at the 11:40 mark of the final frame.
New Mexico answered on the very next shift. Craig Macdonald found a rebound and tallied the eventual game winner; just 23 seconds after the Rayz tied the game. The Scorpions took complete control later with back-to-back goals.
Chris Robertson scored his second goal of the season when Konrad Reeder delivered a perfect pass in front of the net. The puck was dropped and immediately the Scorps increased their lead when Ray Ortiz lit the lamp at the 17:32 mark to finish the night's scoring.
