Hounds Sign Anthony Becker

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - Youngstown SteelHounds Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Kaminski announced today that the team has signed forward Anthony Becker. As per team policy terms of the deal will not be disclosed.

Becker, 22, is a second year pro originally from North Tonawanda, New York. He started the season with the Jacksonville Barracudas of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) recording four assists in five games before moving to the Indiana Ice Miners of the Mid Atlantic Hockey League (MAHL). In nine games with the Ice Miners he has 11 goals and four assists. The 5-11, 173-pound forward started his pro career with the Pee Dee Cyclones of the SPHL recording six goals and two assists in 22 games during the 2006-07 season. Prior to turning pro he played three years for the Texarkana Bandits of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) recording 68 goals and 83 assists in 140 games.

Becker joins the Hounds tonight when they take on the Mississippi RiverKings at 7:05 at the Chevrolet Centre. It is a hockey doubleheader as the second annual "Guns-N-Hoses" game takes place at 4:00. The Youngstown Police Department will face off once again against the Youngstown Fire Department in the second chapter of this rivalry.
