Schwarz Heads to Alaska

The St. Louis Blues announced today that they have assigned goaltender Marek Schwarz to the ECHL's Alaska Aces.

Schwarz returns to Alaska where he posted a 6-0 record earlier this year in his first ECHL stint with a 2.08 GAA and .924 save percentage. With the Rivermen Schwarz was 14-14-2 with a 2.79 GAA and .891 save percentage.

Originally selected by the Blues in the first round, #17 overall, of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Schwarz has appeared in a total of four games with the NHL team. He was also selected to the AHL All-Star Team as a rookie last season.

Schwarz will join the Aces for its first round playoff series in Idaho against the Steelheads.
