Columbus Returns Derek MacKenzie

Syracuse, NY (April 8, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have returned center Derek MacKenzie to Syracuse.

MacKenzie, 26, has appeared in 59 games for the Crunch this season, tallying 23 goals, 20 assist and 44 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in 17 games for Columbus this year, notching 2 goals and 8 penalty minutes.

A native of Sudbury, Ontario, MacKenzie was signed by Columbus as a free agent on July 11, 2007.

The Crunch's next game is Tuesday, April 8 as they travel to Lake Erie to take on the Monsters. The Crunch return home on Saturday, April 12 vs. Binghamton at the War Memorial at Oncenter.
