
Schedule Set For Grizzlies' Midnight Madness

Gastonia, NC- The Gastonia Grizzlies have set the pregame schedule for the second annual Midnight Madness game on June 24th against the Forest City Owls.
The Midnight Madness game which won best promotion at the Summer Ball Conference will feature a variety of festivities beginning at 8:00PM when the gates open. From 8:00-8:30 will all fans will have the opportunity for a meet and greet session with the Grizzlies. At 8:30 will be the first Physical Performance Center Baseball Skills Challenge, followed by Play Catch with the Grizzlies on the Field.
At 10:00 the popular Home Run Derby between the Grizzlies and Forest City Owls will take place. Each team will have four representatives competing for the title. Last year David Chester (Boston Red Sox 2011 Draftee) won with 11 home runs.
The sponsor of the night, The Hampton Inn will have bed races on the field at 11:00PM and the winners will receive free hotel packages. New in 2011 will be pillow fights and pajamas races. The popular Hampton Inn cookies will be thrown into the crowd by the players before the game.
In the Beer Garden, the John Earle Band will be playing live from 9:00PM-midnight. In the garden there will also be cornhole games and a beer pong Tournament. At midnight all beer becomes $1.
The Grizzlies are offering ticket discounts for any fans wearing pajamas. The Grizzlies will also be having the first ever Garbage Can Nachos Eating Challenge at 10:45 where three contestants will battle the Garbage Can which consists of four orders of nachos, 2 cheeseburgers, 2 hot dogs, pound of Philly Cheese-steak, pound of Chili, Nacho Cheese, Jalapenos and Donuts.
First pitch is at midnight and fans that stay throughout the game have the opportunity to win prizes throughout the night.
Local filter company, Wix has teamed up with the Grizzlies again and has bought tickets for all of their employees and will be offering prizes all night including Carowinds tickets, TV's and trips to Myrtle Beach.
