Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Fans who've been waiting months for TinCaps baseball at Parkview Field will get more than they bargained for on Sunday (April 8).
The TinCaps and Lake County Captains (Cleveland Indians) had their game at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio, on Friday night suspended at the end of three innings due to inclement weather. Snow was falling as winds blew in excess of 20 miles per hour. The 30-something-degree temperature felt like it was in the 20s.
As scheduled, the series between Fort Wayne and Lake County has shifted to the Summit City. The TinCaps and Captains open up Parkview Field's 10th season on Saturday night (6:05 p.m.).
Friday's suspended game will be resumed on Sunday at Parkview Field, beginning at 2:05. The game will be picked up with the start of the fourth inning and will be scheduled to go nine innings. (Fort Wayne will technically be the road team.) Note that this is an earlier start time than if there was only one game on Sunday (which had been scheduled to start at 3:05 p.m.).
After the suspended game is completed on Sunday, the TinCaps and Captains will then play a game that will be scheduled for seven innings, per the rules of Minor League Baseball. There will be 30 minutes between games.
Parkview Field's gates on Sunday now are scheduled to open at 1:35 p.m.
Fans with tickets for Sunday can attend both games at regular price. Tickets are available online at TinCapsTickets.com, by calling 260-482-6400, and at the Parkview Field Ticket Office. The TinCaps are home through Thursday. Click here to check out the team's Homestand Highlights presented by Lancia Homes.
