Traverse City Beach Bums News Release
WUERFEL PARK - Since its opening in 2006, the Traverse City Beach Bums have strived to make Wuerfel Park an entertainment destination for Northern Michigan. Starting this summer, the team is proud to continue that mission with the introduction of live concerts and a Farm & Flea Market on Saturdays.
In collaboration with Sam Porter and Porterhouse Productions, the Beach Bums introduce the "Baseball, Bands & Brews" Saturday concert series. Featuring popular acts like The Accidentals and Jocaine, "Baseball, Bands & Brews" will be held during seven Saturday Beach Bums' home games.
Performers will take the stage for a 30 minute set when gates open at 6pm, then return to perform a free concert at the conclusion of that night's 7:05pm game. Admission to the concerts are included in each game ticket and are open to all ages.
"Bringing other events is a long time coming and I'm just very excited for the concerts to add to the total experience at the park" says Beach Bums' president John Wuerfel. "Partnering with Sam Porter, who knows how to run events like this, is very important because he'll make sure the quality is good.
"I'm excited to work with a family owned business that is committed to driving the arts and entertainment in Northern Michigan" adds Sam Porter. "Wuerfel Park is one of the best untapped opportunities in the region and has lots of potential."
The performances will take place along the concession concourse on the first base side of the stadium.

The market is free to attend. Cost to sell items is $50 for a single space (two parking spots) or $100 for a double space (four parking spots). Registration is on a week-to-week basis.
"We've been approached by hundreds of people over the years who have inquired about our parking lot space and it's time to put it to good use." notes Wuerfel. "We see the market as a great addition to Traverse City and can bring people to the area from all directions every Saturday. We plan to make the market a true event."
