
College Game Follows Slammers' Exhibition Contest On Wednesday

Joliet, IL- Catch an exciting day of baseball at Silver Cross Field on Wednesday, May 6th as the Joliet Slammers host the Normal CornBelters in an exhibition game. The first pitch is at 10:05 A.M. with gates opening at 9:05 A.M. Double dip in the evening by coming back to Silver Cross Field to watch Chicago State take on the University of Wisconsin -Milwaukee. First pitch is at 6:00 P.M. and the gates open at 4:45 P.M. All tickets are $5.00 for each event.
The Frontier League was formed in 1993, and is the oldest currently running independent league . With the debut of Brandon Cunniff for the Atlanta Braves earlier this year, the Frontier League has now sent 27 players to the major league level. During the 2014 season, over 50 players from Frontier League teams were picked up by Major League organizations and moved into affiliated baseball.
The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy play at Silver Cross Field in downtown Joliet, Illinois, and are members of the professional, independent Frontier League. The Frontier League is a 14-team league entering its 23rd season of play in 2015.
