Portland Winterhawks News Release
The first of three daylight games this season is slated for Saturday, November 28, when the Portland Winterhawks host the Vancouver Giants in the Burgerville Daylight Classic. The curtains will be open in the Veterans Memorial Coliseum to allow natural light into the arena bowl in a special 3 p.m. start.
Tickets can be purchased at winterhawks.com, the Winterhawks' ticket office inside Veterans Memorial Coliseum, at the Rose Quarter Box Office, and all TicketMaster outlets, including Fred Meyer.
In addition, the Winterhawks Booster Club and the Portland Police Bureau's Sunshine Division are teaming up for the "Keeping Portland Warm" drive during the game.
The Portland Winterhawks and the team's Booster Club have supported the Sunshine Division's mission of providing basic food and clothing needs in a variety of ways throughout many years. The "Keeping Portland Warm" event addresses the basic needs of some of our most vulnerable clients during the winter months, the very real struggle of keeping warm," said Sunshine Division's Executive Director, Kyle Camberg. "It also spreads awareness of our organization to their fans at a vital time of year."
Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used blankets, coats, sweaters, and new socks and gloves to the game to donate to local individuals and families in need as the temperature outside drops. The first 500 people to donate will get a pass to the Adidas employee store, and will have the chance to win a team-signed stick.
"The Winterhawks are always proud to support the Sunshine Division in their efforts to help those who are less fortunate in our community," said Portland Winterhawks President Doug Piper. "We're happy to partner with the Booster Club and the Sunshine Division to collect donations for a worthy cause."
Premier membership season tickets for the 2015-16 season are on sale now and start at only $42 per month and include playoffs. Visit winterhawks.com or call 503-236-HAWK to reserve the best seat locations.
