Great Lakes Loons News Release
MIDLAND, Mich. - The Great Lakes Loons defeated the Lake County Captains on Friday night to break out of a three-game losing streak. The Loons and Captains were scheduled to continue the series Saturday night. However, the skies opened up and prevented the game from ever starting.
To make up the contest, the Loons and Captains will play a doubleheader Sunday at Dow Diamond. Game one will begin at 12:05 p.m., and game two will commence approximately half an hour after the conclusion of the first game. Each contest will be seven innings. Dow Diamond gates will open at 11:30 p.m.
Tickets for Saturday's game can be exchanged for any remaining 2022 home game - regular season or postseason - or any April 2023 home game over the phone or at the Dow Diamond box office. Tickets for Sunday are good for both games.
The series will continue Sunday, and the two teams will start the same pitchers as were scheduled for Saturday. Loons lefty Ronan Kopp (0-0, 6.75 ERA) takes the hill for a second time at this level, opposing right-hander Aaron Davenport (5-6, 4.60 ERA) for Lake County. Pregame coverage will begin on ESPN 100.9-FM at 11:50 a.m. with the Loons On-Deck Circle, driven by Garber Chevrolet Midland. At Dow Diamond, it's Fan Appreciation Day - the final day of the regular season. Extra prizes and fun are in store. It's also the final Kids Eat Free and Run the Bases day, presented by ESPN 100.9-FM. Plus, kids go home at the end of the game with a bag of goodies, thanks to Meijer. Tickets are still available at Loons.com.
The Great Lakes Loons have been a Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers since the team's inception in 2007. Dow Diamond serves as the team's home and also houses the Michigan Baseball Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity, and ESPN 100.9-FM.
