Sarnia Sting News Release
1. Reminder of Time Change for Sunday October 31st vs Ottawa:
Sunday October 31st game is at 2:00pm. Doors will open at 1:00pm, Local Legends will be open for pre & post game reservations.
2. The Sarnia Sting and the Sarnia Sports & Entertainment Centre join the cause to help the Inn Of The Good Shepherd
Sarnia's Inn of the Good Shepherd is currently experiencing dangerously low volumes of food and financial aid. Friday, November 5, 2004 the Sarnia Sting hockey team will go to battle with the Oshawa Generals on the ice, while asking their loyal fans to join the battle against hunger and assist the SSEC and KFC in helping the Inn of the Good Shepherd through a difficult time.
Staff and volunteers will pass KFC buckets throughout the building on November 5th, asking generous fans to make monetary donations to the Inn and help kick-start the campaign.
Also, KFC will be conducting its second annual Inn of the Good Shepherd Food Drive on November 5th with the distribution of brown paper sacks. Fans will be asked to take home the KFC sack and return it with a non-perishable food donation at the Friday, November 26th game vs. the Soo Grey Hounds. Fans who are unable to return their food donations at the November 26th game can also drop their donations to any area KFC or directly to the Inn of the Good Shepherd.
"Everybody needs a little help at some time in their lives - the Inn is in the business of help and right now they need ours," says Sting Captain, Marco Caprara, "I hope everyone can dig deep and get them back in a position to be there for people at Christmas".
3. Coats for Kids Campaign:
The Coats for Kids campaign is winding down & the weather is changing. The Sarnia Sting & SSEC are still taking clothing donations for the Coats for Kids campaign. While you are fall cleaning this weekend make sure you bring your old coats to the game for some needy individuals in our community.
Thank you for your continued support and see you at the games this weekend. For tickets call 541-1717
