FC Tulsa News Release
TULSA - "Clutch" in Portuguese is "Embreagem". Marlon Santos é muito embreagem.
The Brazilian forward, subbed on in the second half, scored two goals in the final 10 minutes, the second in stoppage time, to snatch a crucial three points at home with a 2-1 victory over Memphis 901 FC.
It appeared as if Marlon's first goal in the 80' minute might be enough to earn a tidy 1-0 victory, but a Memphis goal in the 87' minute equalized the scoreline and set up Marlon for the match winner. The late goals make it back-to-back home matches that Marlon has scored a match winner in the final minutes of the match after his go ahead strike in the 88' minute on August 7 in a 3-1 win over Birmingham Legion FC.
Three more points put FC Tulsa firmly in the driver's seat in third place in the Central Division and inch them closer to second place Birmingham. FC Tulsa now trails second, and the home Playoffs match that comes with it, by just five points.
