SKC II to Welcome Memphis on Sunday

Sporting Kansas City II News Release
Sporting Kansas City II (3-12-6, 15 points) will begin a stretch of three home matches in seven days on Sunday afternoon when head coach Paulo Nagamura's side hosts Memphis 901 FC (5-6-6, 21 points) in a Central Division clash at world-class Children's Mercy Park. The contest will kick off at 4 p.m. CT and stream live on ESPN Plus.
In the midst of a five-game homestand, Sporting KC II will aim for their second consecutive result after scrapping to a 1-1 draw with Indy Eleven last weekend. A pair of Sporting KC Academy products and MLS loanees combined for SKC II's go-ahead goal in the 40th minute as forward Wilson Harris finished off an excellent cross from right back Kayden Pierre. Indy restored parity six minutes into the second half through Jordan Hamilton.
Winless in seven straight games, Sporting KC II will go up against a Memphis side led by head coach Ben Pimann and owned by U.S. international legend Tim Howard. Memphis took a 3-2 home loss to SKC II on June 26 as Rojay Smith, Enoch Mushagalusa and Danny Barbir scored for the visitors. The Tennesee outfit avenged that defeat with a 2-1 road win at Children's Mercy Park on Aug. 1 when Kyle Murphy and Michael Salazar scored on either side of Harris' successful first-half penalty kick.
Memphis faces a quick turnaround this weekend after taking a 2-1 road loss to FC Tulsa on Wednesday. They are also facing a busy end to the campaign, playing 15 times over the final two months of the regular season.
