
Santa Cruz Warriors Split Opening Weekend Back-To-Back with Ontario Clippers, 116-110

SANTA CRUZ, CA - The Santa Cruz Warriors (1-1) fell to the Ontario Clippers (1-1) in the second match up of the Opening Weekend back-to-back Saturday night at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
Tonight's contest was back and forth throughout the first quarter, ending the frame tied at 29, with guard Dusty Hannahs scoring 12 of the team's first quarter points. The Clippers offense led by as many as 13 points in the second quarter and finished the quarter with a 63-52 lead over the Sea Dubs.
With just 10.7 seconds left in the third quarter, the Warriors took a one-point lead over the Clippers, heading into the final frame up 86-85. The Clippers took a five-point lead with two minutes remaining in the contest, however a three pointer by guard Lester Quinones with 1:39 remaining brought the score to within two points. Guard Xavier Moon sealed the deal for the Clippers with a shot late in the fourth to gain a six-point lead over the Warriors and securing a 116-110 lead.
Forward Pat Spencer led the Sea Dubs with 22 points, adding eight rebounds and four assists. Center Trevion Williams secured his second double-double of the season, notching 12 points and 16 rebounds, and Hannahs finished with 18 points and five assists.
Guard Nate Darling led Ontario with 34 points and added seven rebounds, while forward Malik Fitts finished the night with 22 points and seven rebounds. Moon added 15 points and four rebounds off the bench for the Clippers.
Santa Cruz will now travel to Oklahoma City for a back-to-back against the Blue on November 9 and 10. They will visit the NBA G League Ignite in Henderson, Nevada on November 12 before returning to Santa Cruz on Saturday, November 19 for a matchup against the South Bay Lakers at 7 p.m. at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
