
Santa Cruz Warriors Acquire Dominic McGuire

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors have acquired six-year NBA veteran Dominic McGuire.
McGuire, 28, has appeared in 342 games (84 starts) over six seasons with the Washington Wizards, Sacramento Kings, Charlotte Bobcats, Golden State Warriors, Toronto Raptors, New Orleans Hornets and Indiana Pacers, holding career averages of 2.7 points and 3.4 rebounds in 15.6 minutes played. McGuire began the 2013-14 season in training camp with the Utah Jazz, where he appeared in five preseason games, averaging 2.4 points in 10.4 minutes played. The 6'9", 235-pound forward was selected 47th overall by the Washington Wizards in the 2007 NBA Draft, and he spent two seasons in Washington alongside current Santa Cruz Warriors assistant coach Phil Hubbard. During his final college season at Fresno State, McGuire averaged 13.5 points and 9.8 rebounds, and he was named to the 2007 WAC All-Defensive Team.
McGuire will wear jersey #18 and will be in uniform for tonight's game at Kaiser Permanente Arena against the Canton Charge.
The Santa Cruz Warriors have also waived Taylor Griffin due to season-ending injury. Griffin, 27, appeared in 48 games last season with the Santa Cruz Warriors, averaging 10.7 points and 6.5 rebounds.
