
Sanford Returns to Blues; Schwarz Back to Peoria

Peoria, IL (January 13, 2007) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today that goaltender Curtis Sanford has been recalled from the Peoria Rivermen, the Blues' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. In addition, goaltender Marek Schwarz has been assigned to Peoria.
Sanford, 27, suffered a groin injury in the first period of the Dec. 1 game against the Chicago Blackhawks. He has appeared in 12 games for the Blues this season, posting a 2-5-2 record along with a 2.93 goals against average (GAA). Sanford was assigned to Peoria for conditioning on Jan. 10 and played in two games for the Rivermen, posting a 1-1-0 record.
Schwarz, 20, was in his second stint with the Blues this season; he has skated in two games, collecting a 0-1-0 record along with a 3.00 goals against average. The Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic native was just named to his first career AHL All-Star Team on Tuesday, Jan. 9. He has notched a 13-6-0 record along with a 2.59 GAA and a .904 save percentage in 21 games with the Rivermen this season.
Tonight - Saturday, January 13, Peoria hosts the Milwaukee Admirals at 7:30 p.m. It is OSF-St. Francis Medical Center/Children's Hospital of Illinois T-Shirt Night for the first 2,000 fans. And Kaufman Wellness Center will be on hand for free spinal checks and back massages.
