Charleston, SC - The RiverDogs picked up right where they left off in Savannah on Sunday, literally. Charleston (10-5) plated three runs in the first on their way to a 4-2 victory Thursday Night.

Before Thursday's regularly scheduled contest, the Gnats (5-9) and RiverDogs had to finish the suspended game from Sunday, April 19th. The R'Dogs started on Thursday in the top of the sixth leading 8-3 and added five runs to make it a 13-4 final.

Thursday's regularly scheduled match-up started with more of the same from Charleston, who plated three runs in the game's opening frame. INF Connor Spencer plated two and advanced to second on a fly ball to left.

In the second, Abiatal Avelino reached on a bunt and later scored to give Charleston a 4-0 lead. Avelino's run would give Charleston starter Andre Del Bosque (1-0, 3.18) enough run support to picked up the win.

With the Riverdogs leading 4-0, Gnats starter LHP Brad Wieck (0-3, 3.60) settled in a shut the door. Wieck took the loss, but threw a career-high six innings allowing seven hits and striking out nine, also a career-high.

The Gnats' bats came alive in the fourth. Right fielder Wuilmer Becerra and Catcher Tomas Nido both crushed solo-shots to cut the lead to just two. All in all the Gnats total 11 hits on Thursday.

RHP Jimmy Duff worked two 1-2-3 innings in the seventh and eighth.

RHP Casey Meisner (1-0, 2.45) will take the hill for the Gnats Friday, while Charleston's starter is TBD. The Sand Gnats return home on Tuesday, April 28th to take on the Delmarva Shorebirds for Two-for-Tuesday at 7:05 PM.
