
Sanabria Nearly Perfect in Bandits Win

Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The River Bandits took game one of three in Cedar Rapids with an 8-2 win over the Kernels on a warm Tuesday night at Perfect Game Field. *Carlos Sanabria *tossed six perfect innings before Cedar Rapids cracked the hit column in the seventh. Five Bandits had multi-hit games.
*Marcos Almonte* singled home a run in the first for the Bandits (26-24). In the fourth, *Osvaldo Duarte* cracked a single to left to make it 2-0 Quad Cities. The Bandits scored four times in the fifth off Cedar Rapids' (29-23) starter *Eduardo Del Rosario*. Duarte and *Ronnie Dawson* both doubled to drive in runs and *Taylor Jones* recorded a two RBI single, widening the lead to 6-0 Quad Cities. A pair of runs in the eighth stretched the advantage to 8-0 Bandits.
Sanabria (1-2) cruised through six innings, setting down 18 straight to start his outing. *Ariel Montesino* ended the perfect game with a leadoff double in the seventh. The next batter, *Jermaine Palacios, *ended the shutout with a two-run homer to right. Sanabria was pulled with two outs in the seventh. The right-hander finished with a career-high seven strikeouts, including a string of five in a row.
Del Rosario (4-3) took the loss for Cedar Rapids. He allowed six runs, ten hits, walked four and struck out six in his start. *Abdiel Saldana* and *Lucas Williams* teamed up to shutout the Kernels over the final 2.1 innings of relief for the Bandits.
