San Jose, Calif - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has signed forward Matt Jones. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We are excited to add Matt to our organization," said Wilson. "Head Coach Mark Dennehy and his staff have done a great job with the Merrimack program and Matt's progress as a hockey player is a testament to that."

Jones, 22, recently completed his sophomore season at Merrimack College (Hockey East). The six-foot-four, 205-pound native of Kentwood, Michigan, also played for the Sioux City Musketeers in the 2005-06 season.
