March 28, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release
The Chicago Wolves have signed defenseman and Chicago native RYAN REID.
The 27-year-old blueliner, who has racked up 81 penalty minutes and seven points (3G, 4A) in 56 games with the ECHL's Dayton Bombers this season, will be available to make his American Hockey League debut when Chicago battles the Rockford IceHogs at the Rockford MetroCentre tonight at 7:30 p.m.
Last year, REID ranked second in the ECHL with a +31 plus/minus rating and helped Dayton reach the Kelly Cup Finals by notching 12 points (2G, 10A) and 105 penalty minutes in 72 regular-season outings and one assist and 14 penalty minutes in 22 postseason tilts. Overall, he has collected 34 points (11G, 23A) and 262 penalty minutes in 206 career ECHL contests over the last four seasons with the Bombers, Toledo Storm, Gwinnett Gladiators and Atlantic-City Boardwalk Bullies (2004 to 2008).
Prior to turning pro, REID spent four seasons at Lake Superior State University (CCHA) from 2001 to 2005, tallying 21 assists, 23 points and 219 penalty minutes in 133 career matchups.
