OVERVIEW: The SaberCats got back in the win column and kept Kansas City winless on the season with a 44-36 defeat of the Brigade on Mar. 29 in the first-ever meeting between the teams. The SaberCats now travel to the site of one of the greatest and one of the ugliest moments from 2007. San Jose travels to New Orleans for a contest with the VooDoo on Apr. 5. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. (PT). San Jose's last visit to the Big Easy resulted in the team's third league title in six seasons with a 55-33 win over Columbus in ArenaBowl XXI. The visit prior to that resulted in the team's worst loss of the season, a 67-54 defeat at the hands of the VooDoo. Comcast SportsNet Bay Area and NBC11 will televise the game live and in HD with CSN airing a 30-minute pre and post game show live from New Orleans Arena. San Jose's flagship radio station KNBR 1050 will also carry the game live...The SaberCats had one of their best defensive efforts holding the Brigade to a season-low point total and just 209 yards of offense. DL Garrett McIntyre, playing in just his 2nd game of the season, posted a pair of sacks and forced fumbles that resulted in 10 San Jose points. Rodney Wright was the offensive star with a career-high 14 catches for 165 yards and a nifty 9-yard TD run. ON THE TUBE: Comcast SportsNet Bay Area (formerly FSN Bay Area) and NBC11 will both televise the game live and in High Definition from the New Orleans Arena. CSN Bay Area will also produce and air a 30-minute pre- and post game show. The newly-branded network is available on Comcast Cable channel 40 and HD channel 720. Viewers in Central California can watch the CSN Bay Area HD showing on channel 920. NBC11, the Bay Area's NBC affiliate, is located on Comcast Cable channel 3 and HD channel 703. NBC11 will also re-air the game on Sunday, Apr. 6 at 1:00 a.m. following Saturday Night Live. As always, viewers are advised to consult their cable or satellite provider for updated channel listings. San Jose has played one 1-point game since, defeating Georgia in overtime, 56-55, on Mar. 17, 2006...San Jose tied a team record with four interceptions against New Orleans on May 1, 2004...Mark Grieb threw for a team record and career-high 445 yards in San Jose's loss at New Orleans on April 13, 2007. It was the 10th highest single-game total in AFL history. His 54 pass attempts in the game also tied his team game record. Both were also New Orleans opponent records...San Jose DB Omarr Smith had the only multi-interception game (2) of his San Jose career against the VooDoo on May 1, 2004. Smith had a 2-INT game as a member of the Tampa Bay Storm during the 2003 season...New Orleans defensive coordinator Jeff Russell played in one game with the SaberCats during the 1997 season...In his last 2 games against the VooDoo San Jose WR James Roe has 25 receptions for 333 yards and 8 TDs. Roe has started all 3 games against New Orleans and has totaled 343 yards and 10 TDs on 27 catches...The VooDoo has blocked 3 San Jose extra point attempts in the series, including 2 blocks of A.J.
