San Jose Earthquakes-Atletico Madrid Tickets to Go On-Sale Friday, May 16

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that tickets to their summer friendly against UEFA Champions League finalist Atletico Madrid will go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 16 at 10 a.m. PT via www.sjearthquakes.com, www.tickets.com and by calling 1-800-225-2277.

Groups of 10 or more should call the club's front office at 408-556-7700 to ask about group rates. Suites are also available by calling the club's front office. Additionally, Earthquakes supporter areas have been designated for sections LR42 and LR44. Earthquakes season ticket holders will continue to have pre-sale availability until the public on-sale date and should reach out to the fan relations department with ticket requests.

The match will be played on Sunday, July 27 at San Francisco's Candlestick Park at 4 p.m. PT as Atletico Madrid prepares for the second edition of the Copa Euroamericana. This year's tournament features Atletico Madrid, Club America and AS Monaco along with a number of other clubs to be announced in the near future. Atletico Madrid will also play Club America in Azteca Stadium on July 30 as part of the tournament.

In last year's inaugural tournament, Atletico Madrid, F.C. Porto (Portugal) and Sevilla FC (Spain) represented Europe and South America was represented by Atletico Nacional (Colombia), Barcelona S.C. (Ecuador), Deportivo Anzoategui (Venezuela), Estudiantes de la Plata (Argentina), Millonarios (Colombia), Club Nacional de Futbol (Uruguay), Sporting Cristal (Peru) and Universidad Catolica (Chile).

Atletico Madrid is on top of the La Liga standings with one game remaining. They are 28-5-4 with 89 points, three more than FC Barcelona. They'll also face their crosstown rival, Real Madrid, in the 2013-14 UEFA Champions League Final on Saturday, May 24 (11:45 a.m. PT / FOX).
