Club Deportivo Chivas USA News Release

Carson, Calif. (Wednesday, May 14, 2014) - Chivas USA Youth Development Academy midfielder Carlos Anguiano has been called up to the United States U-14 Boys National Team by Head Coach Brian Johnson for their upcoming training camp that will take place in Zagreb, Croatia from May 15-25. In its first international camp, Anguiano and the U.S. U14s will match up against Croatia on May 19 and 21, as well as Slovenia on May 22. The national squad will then close out camp with a to-be-determined opponent on May 24.

For 13-year-old Anguiano, this will be his fourth training camp with the U-14 USBNT, being one of the few players that have participated in all of the current cycles domestic training camps that began last September. With the Chivas USA Youth Development Academy, Anguiano took part of the U13s championship-winning campaign in the 35th Edition of the Dr Pepper Dallas Cup last month.

"Obviously, Charlie is very excited to represent his country on an international level," Academy Coach Brian Kleiban said. "This will be his sixth trip to Europe, his first with the national team, so he's experienced and he looks forward to putting that European experience to work now with the national team. We're certain that he will do well."

While on international duty, Anguiano will miss two of Chivas USA U-14 Team's games in the U.S. Soccer's Development Academy League. The Red-and-White U14s will host Real So Cal this Saturday at the Bell Gardens Sports Complex and will then match up against the Santa Barbara Soccer Club next Saturday at the StubHub Center's Field 6.
