San Jose Earthquakes News Release
San Jose (Thursday, July 17, 2002) - The San Jose Earthquakes and TheraLife are proud to present Health Day Saturday, August 17 at Spartan Stadium. The Health Day events will take place prior to the Earthquakes 1:00 p.m. PST match against D.C. United.
TheraLife, a nutritional supplement company for ergonomic aches and pains, and the Earthquakes hope to promote good health and safety to parents and children. The day will feature programs and activities from institutions such as Stanford Medical School Blood Center, O'Connor Hospital, TriEnergetics and others. The event will showcase items, methods, practices and information on how to live a healthier life.
"Youth health is absolutely necessary for the well being of our communities," TheraLife Director of Marketing and Sales Emma Guyaz said. "We have gathered some of the best health professionals in the Bay Area to share what is available for families. If just one person is helped through this event, it is a huge success."
Health Day activities start at 11:00 a.m. near the East parking lot of Spartan Stadium and will remain open until approximately 12:45 p.m. Events will include a virtual reality machine simulating the effects of post-head injuries, child seat safety awareness, bicycle safety, eye exams, sports medicine, massage therapy and more. The finals of Pepsi Dribble, Pass and Shoot (DPS) will also be held during that time.
"We are proud to partner with TheraLife for this great event," said Earthquakes General Manager Johnny Moore. "Our players provide a good example for children and families on how to lead healthy lives. We think that August 17 is going to be a fun and educational event for our community."
