New York Red Bulls News Release
SECAUCUS, NJ (July 17, 2002) - In an effort to help raise awareness and funds to find a cure for breast cancer, the MetroStars and the Susan G. The game is part of an international doubleheader, with Scottish powerhouse Glasgow Rangers taking on Santos of Brazil in the second game.
As part of "Kicks For The Cure," fans can purchase $24 tickets for the game, with a portion of each ticket sold donated to the Komen Foundation to help eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex and Union Counties.
In support of "Kicks For The Cure," the MetroStars players will wear the pink ribbons associated with the breast cancer awareness program on their uniforms against New England.
