Calgary Roughnecks News Release
Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks were shut down by Seals goaltender Frank Scigliano Friday night at Pechanga Arena, losing to San Diego 4-9.
After a physical start to the game, the Seals were able to produce two goals in the first whilst keeping Calgary scoreless despite 16 shots on goal. A breakaway goal from Curtis Dickson got the Roughnecks on the board in the 2nd quarter, with only one additional goal from San Diego keeping the total at just 1-3 going into the second half. Despite a push from Calgary with goals from Shane Simpson in the third and Dan Taylor and Tanner Cook in the fourth, the Seals piled on six goals to pull the win out of reach for the Riggers.
Curtis Dickson (1g, 1a) and Jesse King (0g, 2a) both ended the night with two points. Calgary outshot the home team 54-52, with Scigliano making 50 saves to take the win for the Seals.
The Riggers now return home to host the biggest St Patrick's Day Party in Calgary on March 17th as they take on the Saskatchewan Rush. Tickets are now on sale for the St Patrick's Day Party and Hair of the Dog Party on March 17th and 19th. For more information, head to CalgaryRoughnecks.com/tickets.
