SAN DIEGO GULLS AGREE TO PTO WITH RYAN WHITE

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has reached an agreement with center Ryan White on a professional tryout (PTO). In addition, the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL) have assigned center Eric Fehr to San Diego.

White, 29 (3/17/88), has appeared in 313 career National Hockey League (NHL) games, earning 31-3061 points with 447 penalty minutes (PIM) with the Minnesota Wild (2016-17), Arizona Coyotes (2016-17), Philadelphia Flyers (2014-2016) and Montreal Canadiens (2009-14). In 19 Stanley Cup Playoff contests with the Canadiens, Flyers and Wild, the 6-0, 200-pound forward collected two goals (2-02) and 57 PIM.

A native of Brandon, Manitoba, White has recorded 36-4783 points with a +13 rating and 383 PIM in 190 career AHL contests with the Hamilton Bulldogs (2008-12) and Lehigh Valley Phantoms (2014-15). Originally selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the third round (66th overall) of the 2006 NHL Draft, White has earned 9-1221 points with 93 PIM in 38 Calder Cup Playoff games with Hamilton.

Fehr, 32 (9/7/85), went scoreless with two penalty minutes (PIM) in four games with the Maple Leafs this season. The 6-4, 208-pound forward has scored 103-99202 points with a +50 rating and 187 PIM in 566 career NHL games with Toronto (2016-17), Pittsburgh (2015-16), Winnipeg (2011-12) and Washington (2005-11, 2012-15). He has also made seven trips to the Stanley Cup Playoffs with Washington and Pittsburgh, recording 8-210 points and 18 PIM in 60 contests. He won the Stanley Cup with the Penguins in 2016.

Selected by Washington in the first round (18th overall) of the 2003 NHL Draft, Fehr has collected 50-51101 points with a +7 rating and 137 PIM in 121 AHL games with the Hershey Bears (2005-08). In 21 Calder Cup Playoff contests, the Winkler, Manitoba native has earned 9-615 points with a +3 rating and 10 PIM.
