Saltdogs Win Exhibition Opener 5-3 in KC

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Saltdogs scored three times in the early innings and twice in the ninth to defeat the Kansas City T-Bones 5-3 in their exhibition opener at CommunityAmerica Ballpark Tuesday night.

RHP Joe Bisenius (1-0) pitched two perfect innings, striking out two to earn the win. RHP Stayton Thomas and RHP Travis Parker each contributed hitless innings of relief. RHP Eddie McKiernan worked the ninth inning to pick up the save.

Offensively, leadoff man and center fielder Daniel Carroll had a single, stolen base, and a run scored. Right fielder Stephen Douglas led the way with a double and two hits, a stolen base and two RBI.

The Saltdogs will host the Sioux City Explorers Thursday evening at 6:05 at Haymarket Park. All tickets are just $5.
