Lincoln Saltdogs News Release
LINCOLN, NE - The Lincoln Saltdogs announced Monday that Drew Bontadelli will rejoin the organization as Director of Broadcasting. Bontadelli will serve as the radio play-by-play broadcaster for the team on 1240 AM KFOR and handle the club's media relations duties.
Bontadelli returns to the Saltdogs after having spent the last two seasons in a similar role for the Class-A Yakima Bears of the Northwest League. The California native worked as a broadcasting and media relations assistant for the Saltdogs in 2008.
"Lincoln is a tremendous city and Haymarket Park is an absolute gem of a ballyard," said Bontadelli. "I am thrilled to be back working for this great organization and getting the chance to again talk baseball with these terrific fans."
During the baseball offseason Bontadelli handles radio play-by-play of NCAA football and basketball games for Compass Media Networks. His broadcast experience also includes three years at ESPN Radio 1280 in San Luis Obispo, CA announcing various Cal Poly and high school sports.
"We are excited to have Drew join the Saltdogs organization as our Director of Broadcasting," Saltdogs President Charlie Meyer said. "Drew's broadcasting experience with Big Ten basketball and SEC football for Compass Media Networks as well as his minor league baseball experience makes him a great addition to the Saltdogs organization."
The 2011 Lincoln Saltdogs season begins on May 11 in Shreveport, with the home opener scheduled for May 24 against Kansas City. For more team and ticket information, go to www.saltdogs.com .
