
Salt Lake wins over Tucson

A wild pitch from Tommy Layne in the eighth inning allowed John Hester to score the go-ahead run for the Salt Lake Bees in a 2-1 win over the Tucson Padres Friday at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
Kyle Blanks gave the Padres their first lead of the season with an RBI double to center in the top of the first. Tucson starting pitcher Sean O'Sullivan retired the first seven batters of the game and did not allow a hit until the fourth inning when Luis Jimenez hit a two-out infield single.
Salt Lake evened the scored at 1-1 in the bottom of the fifth on Hester's RBI double to the right-center field gap. Padres reliever Daniel Stange came in to pitch in the sixth inning and threw two scoreless frames.
Relief pitcher Fautino De Los Santos started the bottom of the eighth for the Padres surrendering two hits. He was charged with his first loss of the year. Robert Coello earned the win for the Bees, while Ryan Brasier closed out the ninth for his first save.
