Three Salt Lake pitchers combined to throw a two-hit shutout as the Bees blank the Las Vegas Aviators 2-0 in game two to earn a split of the doubleheader. Jhonathan Diaz (9-2) picked up the win by throwing five scoreless innings. He allowed just one hit with three strikeouts and four walks. Kelvin Caceres, who was making his Triple-A debut, kept Las Vegas off the board in the sixth and Reyes Moronta threw a three up, three down seventh inning with two strikeouts to earn his fourth save of the season. Livan Soto put the Bees in front with a solo homer in the first inning and Salt Lake would add an unearned run in the third inning. The victory would snap
In game one, Las Vegas belted four home runs in the 3rd inning en route to a 5-1 win over the Bees. Jake Kalish (7-10) surrendered a two run homer to Brett Harris and two outs later gave up back-to-back-to-back homers. Salt Lake managed just one run in the fourth, as Jordyn Adams singled, advanced to third on a single by Kevin Padlo and scored on a sacrifice fly by Livan Soto. Luis Ledo pitched the final two innings for the Bees and retired all six batters he faced, four by strikeouts.
