Salt Lake Bees News Release
The Salt Lake Bees completed their first series sweep of the season with a 3-2 win over the Tacoma Rainiers on Sunday afternoon.
The Bees trailed 2-1 in the seventh inning when Eric Young, Jr. drew a one out walk. Ben Revere followed with an infield single and Joe Hudson grounded a single to left to bring home Young with the tying run. One out later, Michael Hermosillo lined a 1-2 pitch to right center to score Revere with the eventual winning run. The Bees had gone 0-5 this season while going for a series sweep before this victory.
Four Salt Lake pitchers combined to throw four and one-third scoreless innings of relief with Jeremy Rhoades (3-3) retiring all four batters he faced to pick up the win. Ryan Clark gave up a one out double, but worked a scoreless ninth to record his fifth save. Miguel Almonte tossed two-thirds of an inning and Connor Lillis-White retired all four batters he faced. Hermosillo led the Bees with two hits and one run batted in, while Fernandez added a pair of singles. The Bees have won nine of their eleven games since the All-Star break.
