
Salt Lake Clinches North Division Title

PORTLAND, Ore. - Nick Adenhart struck out eight over six scoreless innings and Gary Patchett hit a two-run triple as the Salt Lake Bees clinched the PCL Pacific North Division title by beating the Portland Beavers 4-0 before 5,243 Wednesday night at PGE Park.
It is the third straight division title for the Bees (81-58), who raced out to a 21-1 start to the season and led wire-to-wire.
Adenhart (8-13), who had a loss to show for 10 of his previous 12 decisions, scattered five hits and four walks to lead the six-hit shutout. Henry Bonilla followed with two shutout frames and Chris Bootcheck closed out things in the ninth.
With the Bees already up by a run, Patchett hit a two-run triple in the second and starter Cesar Ramos issued a bases-loaded walk to Bobby Wilson in the third as Salt Lake built its 4-0 advantage.
Ramos (9-11) struck out seven and gave up four runs (2 earned) on five hits and four walks in five innings to take his fourth loss in his last five starts.
The Beavers (69-70) will wrap up their 2008 home schedule Thursday night with a host of special activities. First pitch is 7:05 p.m.
