Victoria Salmon Kings News Release

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that defenseman Dylan Yeo has been named to the All-ECHL First Team and forward Wes Goldie has been named to the All-ECHL Second Team.

The ECHL on Thursday announced its All-ECHL First and Second Teams for 2008-09 as determined in a vote of ECHL coaches, who were asked to select a goaltender, two defensemen and three forwards.

Yeo's appointment marks the first time that the Salmon Kings have had a player named to the All-ECHL First Team. The Prince Albert, SK native is in his second season manning the Salmon Kings' blueline.

In 52 games with Victoria this season Yeo has put up career highs in assists (33), points (43), +/- rating (+15), power play goals (5) and power play assists. He also tied his career high in goals (10).

The 5-11, 190lb defenseman was also named to the starting line-up for the National Conference in the 2009 ECHL All-Star Game in Reading, PA.

Goldie is the third Salmon King in club history to be named to the All-ECHL Second Team. He joins his brother Ash (2007-08) and former teammate and current Salmon Kings' assistant coach Steve Lingren (2005-06) who both have received this honour.

The London, ON native set his personal ECHL career high in goals with 48, and finished second in the league in that category. For the third consecutive season the right winger has led all National Conference scorers in goals scored.

Goldie was also named a starter for this year's All-Star Game, but was unable to attend due to injury.

This is the first time in either player's careers that they have received this honour.
