
Salmon Kings Switch Forwards With Moose

Victoria Salmon Kings News Release
Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today forward Olivier Labelle has been reassigned to Victoria by the Manitoba Moose, while Scott Howes has been recalled to the Manitoba-based AHL team.
Labelle, a St. Eustache, QC native, was called up to Manitoba on November 26, 2008. Labelle played in six games for the Moose collecting two assists and 11 minutes in penalties.
In 17 games with Victoria this season, the third-year pro has collected 16 points (10g-6a) and 45 minutes in penalties. He is second on the Salmon Kings in both goals and game winning markers.
Labelle played with the Utah Grizzlies and Bridgeport Sound Tigers last year before signing with the Moose for this season. With the Grizzlies he played in 52 games, notching 26 goals and 22 assists for 48 points while collecting 169 minutes in penalties.
Howes was assigned to the Salmon Kings on November 4, 2008 by the Moose.
In 12 games in Victoria this season, the rookie forward scored two goals and added seven assists while collecting eight minutes in penalties. The 21-year-old began the season in Manitoba collecting two minutes in penalties in three games.
Prior to turning professional the Toronto, ON native spent three seasons in the QJMHL. Last year with the Saint John Sea Dogs, he collected 70 points (42g-28a) in 59 games.
The Salmon Kings welcome the Bakersfield Condors to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre tonight for a 7:05 p.m. game. The two teams will meet tomorrow evening (7:05 p.m.) and Sunday afternoon (1:05 p.m.) also. Tickets are still available call 250-220-7777.
