Dayton Bombers News Release

Trenton, NJ- The Dayton Bombers relinquished a two goal lead to fall to the Trenton Devils 3-2 on Friday night on the road.

While the game started off slow with neither team scoring in the first period and firing just a combined 14 shots, things heated up in the second when Mike McLean lit the lamp for his 12th of the year from Mike Looby and newly acquired Tomas Zaborsky. Just over a minute later, Christian Gaudet hammered in a rebound past the Devils' Gerard Coleman, assisted by Danny LaPointe and Looby. Then at the 4 minute mark Bombers goaltender Paul Drew stopped a Devils penalty shot to maintain the shutout. The Bombers were about to take a 2-0 lead into the locker room when Trenton's Eric Castonguay scored with 48 seconds remaining in the frame.

Unfortunately Trenton's last minute goal in the second carried momentum into the third and the Devils scored twice more in the first three minutes of the final period. The Bombers mustered only three shots on goal in the third, and were outshot 30-21 overall.

Drew finished the night 27 of 30, while Coleman went 19 of 21. Both teams had three penalties, with Trenton capitalizing once on the man advantage.
