Week In Review â The Saints went 2-1-0 this week with a road win over Amarillo on Thursday, a home loss to Laredo on Friday and a home win over Lubbock on Saturday.
Jan. 29th / San Angelo 4 - Amarillo 1 / The Saints got goals from Jarett Metz, Derek Booth, Kevin Wilson and Chris Minard â and Scott Reid posted 45 saves to lead the Saints over the Gorillas. The win allowed the Saints to take the season series over the Gorillas 4-2 and it marked the first time the home team had lost this season.
Jan. 30th / Laredo 6 - San Angelo 2 / The Bucks scored 3 goals in less than 2 minutes to end the 2nd period and run away with what was a close game to that point on Friday. The Bucks' top ranked power-play unit tallied 3 times, including a 5-on-3 goal to pave the way for the win. Chris Minard and Steve Roberts scored for the Saints as Minard upped his scoring streak to 12 games.
Jan. 31st / Lubbock 1 - San Angelo 2 (SO) / The Saints bounced back Saturday night with a nail-biting shoot-out win over an improved Lubbock squad. Each team scored midway through the 1st period and the score remained knotted 1-1 through regulation and overtime as both goalies were outstanding. After 5 shooters, the shoot-out was tied 2-2, but Trevor Weisgerber scored on the first sudden death shot to give the Saints the win after Scott Reid stopped Lubbock's Dave MacIntyre. The Saints have now won 4 straight against the Cotton Kings.
Player Moves: Dusty Hunter has been put on Season Ending Injured Reserve. John Jarram remains on the 45-day Injured Reserve. Corri Moffat and Konrad Brand are eligible to come off injured reserve this week and may be ready to play by this weekend's games.
