February 2, 2004 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Laredo Bucks News Release

LAREDO, Texas – The Central Hockey League announced today that Laredo Bucks forward / defenseman Serge Dube has been selected the Bauer / Nike CHL Player of the Week. The Bucks host Austin tomorrow night at the LEC. Face-off is set for 7:30 p.m. For tickets or more information call (956) 718-BUCKS (2825) or go online at www.laredobucks.com.

Dube helped the Bucks to a 2-0-1 record this past week with four goals and five assists.

"The puck just happened to be rolling my way," said Dube. "We played well as a team and the important thing is we were able to get five of six points."

Dube currently has points in a season high seven consecutive games. The second year player has already set a career high with 14 goals and has split time between his normal defense position and forward with the Bucks.

"Serge is very important to our team," said Bucks head coach and general manager Terry Ruskowski. "He can play defense and forward and brings a lot to the table both on offense and defense. He is a great leader, someone that our players and the coach respect a lot."

Dube, who hails from Sudbury, Ontario, was one of four Bucks to participate in the CHL All-Star Game in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

This is the fifth CHL award this year for the Bucks. Forwards Jeff Bes and Chris Grenville were selected as the CHL Player of the Week earlier this season and forwards Brent Cullaton and Patrik Nilson have both been honored as CHL Players of the Month.
