Then, the Saints jumped out to a 3-0 lead on goals by Konrad Brand and Jarett Metz in the first 2:11 of the 3rd period before the wheels came off. The Bucks scored 3 goals in the next 11 minutes to tie the game including the 1st short-handed goal given up by the Saints this season. After a scoreless overtime two Bucks tallied shoot-out goals while the Saints were held scoreless - and the Bucks took the 4-3 win with Brent Cullaton notching the game-winner.
Nov 29th / Lubbock 3 - San Angelo 1 / Despite out-shooting the Cotton Kings 42-27, the Saints could not solve goaltender Mike Brusseau and fell to the Kings at home Saturday night. Trevor Weisgerber's goal gave the Saints an early 1-0 lead as they dominated the 1st period, but a late goal by Joe Blaznek tied the game heading into the 2nd period. Chris Duggan and Dave MacIntyre scored 2nd period goals to up the lead to 3-1 heading into the 3rd period. The Saints put up a furious rally in the 3rd out-shooting the Kings 16-5 in the period, but Brusseau was excellent and earned 1st Star of the Game honors with 41 saves.
Tough December Road: The Saints have a tough month ahead with road trips to Memphis, Bossier-Shreveport, Amarillo, Colorado, New Mexico and Lubbock â plus home games against Laredo, Colorado, Amarillo, Odessa and Fort Worth. In all the Saints will play 7 games against current division leaders in December and spend a total of 13 days on the road. Twice the Saints will play 3-games-in-3-days with a 4-games-in-5-days stretch thrown in for good measure.
Player Moves: The Saints waived Chris Peach last week and signed forward Luke Earl. Forward Scott Lega was placed on the Injured Reserve. Forwards Dusty Hunter and Scott Mahar are both eligible to come off the Injured Reserve list this week â so several more player moves could be forthcoming before this weekend's games in Memphis and Bossier-Shreveport.
