ALBUQUERQUE â The New Mexico Dodge Dealers, the Central Hockey League and the New Mexico Scorpions announced earlier today the kickoff of the Dodge "Be an All-Star" Sweepstakes this Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003. The contest will run until Jan. 5, 2004 and fans will be able to register on the CHL, Scorpions and other selected CHL team web sites for a chance to actually participate in the 2004 Dodge CHL All-Star Game as a player.
"The Dodge âBe an All-Star' Sweepstakes is a tremendous vehicle for marketing the Dodge brand through a one of a kind sports promotion," commented Director of the Southwest Dodge Dealers Association Ken Zangara. "This is great visibility for us."
"This is a great way to involve the average CHL fan in this event in a very special and unique way," stated Scorpions Senior Vice President/General Manager Geoff Kent. "I don't think this type of initiative has ever been done before."
"The Central Hockey League is very pleased to continue developing our tremendous relationship with Dodge," said CHL President Brad Treliving, "and commend the New Mexico Scorpions on establishing the outstanding Dodge âBe an All-Star' Sweepstakes program which will see two very fortunate CHL fans participate in numerous enjoyable All-Star functions at our showcase event in Albuquerque this January."
Fans can enter by logging onto the CHL website at www.centralhockeyleague.com or the Scorpions website at www.scorpionshockey.com and clicking on the "Be an All-Star" icon, which will connect to the Sweepstakes rules and Official entry form. All entry forms will be mailed to the New Mexico Scorpions and two Sweepstakes winners will be chosen at random by the CHL by Jan. 10, 2004.
The winners will receive airfare for two to Albuquerque for the 2004 Dodge CHL All-Star Game, two nights of hotel accommodations, two tickets to the exclusive All-Star Game banquet, two tickets to the All-Star Game, an Official All-Star jersey with their name and number on the back, the opportunity to be introduced with the players prior to the game and the chance to sit with their team on the bench for part of the game.
