
Sacramento to host Salt Lake & Omaha at Raley Field

THE RIVER CATS: The River Cats (first place, PCL South) will return to Raley Field for an eight-game homestand (Salt Lake, Omaha) from June 17-24. Sacramento returns home from its current roadtrip with the best record in the Pacific Coast League, and the club is leading all Minor League Baseball clubs in home runs. Rotation: RHP Erik Hiljus (Tuesday), RHP Justin Duchscherer (Wednesday), RHP Mike Wood (Thursday), RHP Rich Harden (Friday), LHP Ed Yarnall (Saturday).
THE SALT LAKE STINGERS: The Salt Lake Stingers (second place, PCL North) will play at Raley Field June 17-20. An Anaheim Angels affiliate, the Stingers are managed by Mike Brumley and have the league's fourth-best offense.
THE OMAHA ROYALS: The Omaha Royals (second place, PCL Central) will play at Raley Field June 21-24. An affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, the Royals' club is highlighted by former River Cats pitcher Mike Fyhrie and former major leaguers Benny Agbayani (OF) and Julius Matos (INF).
RIVER CATS GROWTH POSTER NIGHT: Wednesday, the first 6,000 fans through the gates will receive a free River Cats Growth Poster, courtesy of Raley's & Bel Air.
MASCOT MANIA & DINGER'S BIRTHDAY: Dinger will celebrate his birthday in style on Wednesday, and many of his mascot friends will join him at Raley Field for his party. More than 12 mascots will be in attendance to play and entertain the crowd.
CRYSTAL $1 FAMILY FEAST NIGHT: Every Thursday at Raley Field this season is a Crystal $1 Family Feast Night. All fans in attendance will have the opportunity to purchase select hot dogs and nutty sundae ice cream bars for just $1, courtesy of the Crystal Cream & Butter Company.
KRAZY GEORGE: Friday, the legendary Krazy George will perform for fans at Raley Field. One of Minor League Baseball's most-popular traveling entertainers, Krazy George got his start at Oakland A's games and was the founder of "The Wave."
SUTTER HEALTH FIREWORKS/TECATE FIESTA SATURDAY: After the River Cats play the Omaha Royals on Saturday night, the team will light the skies with fireworks, courtesy of Sutter Health. Also, it will be a Tecate Fiesta Saturday at Raley Field. Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to enjoy Latin music, dancers and decorations.
MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT: Saturday will be "Military Appreciation Night" at Raley Field. There will be a pregame ceremony, giving fans the opportunity to pay their respects to America's Armed Forces.
US BANK KIDS' NIGHT: Every Sunday at Raley Field is a US Bank Kids' Night. All kids in attendance will have the opportunity to enjoy a petting zoo, face painters, balloon artists and the Radio Disney Extreme Team. Additionally, all kids will get a chance to run the bases after the game.
FREE COLD STONE ICE CREAM: If the River Cats score three or more runs on Sunday, all fans in attendance will have the opportunity to exchange their ticket stubs for a free regular-size ice cream creation at Cold Stone.
PLANET POLLUTO DAY: Tuesday at Raley Field, the first 6,000 kids through the gates will receive a free Planet Polluto Compact Disk (interactive game that teaches kids about air pollution).
RIVER CATS IN THE COMMUNITY: The River spend about 260 of 365 days each year out in the community. The following are some of the upcoming events the club will be involved in...
- AAA Assemblies: The River Cats and Dinger will be at local schools preaching Attendance, Attitude and Academics to students. They will be at Sky Crest Elementary School on June 19 (9 am), Albert Switzer Elementary School on June 20 (9 am) and they will conduct an assembly for 1,500 student at Raley Field on June 24 (9 am).
- "Say Golf" Clinic (June 19): Dinger will be at the "Say Golf" clinic teaching golf to at-risk children at the Land Park Golf Course (10 am).
- Food Drive (June 20): The wives of Jason Grabowski and Chad Harville will be at the "Over the Hill Gang" meeting at St. Joseph's Church in Clarksburg (Ca.) collecting food to kick off the River Cats' Fourth-Annual Players' Wives Family Food Drive (noon).
- Softball Chalk Talk (June 20): The River Cats will host a "Chalk Talk" for Sacramento Area Women's Fastpitch Softball players at Raley Field (5:30 pm). Kelly Anderson (Cal) will be among those featured at the "Chalk Talk," and she will be joined by River Cats pitcher Mike Wood.
- Baseball 101 For Women (June 21): Saturday, the River Cats will host "Baseball 101 For Women," presented by Sutter Health. Bobby Crosby, Mike Wood, Mike Rose and a number of River Cats players will teach women the ins and outs of baseball on the diamond at Raley Field. All money raised from this event will be donated to The Children's Center at Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento (8:30 am to 1 pm).
CATS ON THE RADIO: All eight games during the upcoming homestand will be broadcast on Talk 650 KSTE (English) and La Vaquera 1240 AM (Spanish). Johnny Doskow will call all the action in English, while Jose Reynoso does the games in Spanish.

Tickets are $35 and 100 percent of the admission price will benefit The Children's Center at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento.
