Sabres Recall Forwards Derek Whitmore, Marcus Foligno from Rochester

(Rochester, NY)... Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today that forwards Derek Whitmore and Marcus Foligno have been recalled from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.

Whitmore (12/17/1985, 5'11", 185 lbs) leads the Americans with 13 goals and 20 points in 29 games this season. In 272 career AHL games, all spent with Buffalo's AHL affiliate, the Rochester, NY native has amassed 124 points (70+54) and 73 penalty minutes.

In his first professional season, Foligno (8/10/91, 6'3", 227 lbs) has 12 points (9+3) and 33 penalty minutes in 27 games with the Americans. A native of Buffalo, NY, Foligno will join the Sabres on his first career recall after being selected by the Sabres in the fourth round (104th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
